Georgian era diamond, ruby and pearl bracelet in 18k gold. Twelve rubies, one garnet, fifty-eight unpolished diamonds and thirty-nine pearls. The bracelet is closed-back and foiled. Weight: 47.06g. NOTES: Placing coloured metal foil at the back of gemstones which were in closed settings was a common practice during the 18th century. The foil used during the Georgian period was thin slivers of copper or silver. As with most foiled jewellery from that era, the foil of this bracelet has deteriorated with age, giving the gemstones a dull look. The bracelet is sold as is. It could be worn this way, or restored at a jeweller specialising in foiled and closed-back antique jewellery.
