VALUATION: Includes an independent valuation certificate with a value of R40,000.

A rare and special antique French 18k gold "Gourmette" (curb chain) bracelet. Circa 1890-1919. Weight: 16g. Dimensions: 200mm long, 7mm wide. French Hallmarks: The eagle mark indicating 18k gold. It appears to be the horse's head mark on the lower left (looking down). The horse's head is a provincial gold guarantee mark, used between 1838 and 1919. NOTES: Historically, the links were large as they were made with very little machinery and hence were time consuming to produce.
